PALS GETS POLICE ACTION ON SLANDER CASE - THE HARD WAY

The lone writer for this paper found himself faced with a murderous attack by persons who are putting out an obscene version of this paper.

Their paper has an obscene heading on it, but otherwise closely resembles this paper.

Those persons use this writer's name as though he were the publisher; they use his paper's address and his Capitol City Newsletter heading as their own.

This writer first went to the campus police because the obscene paper was distributed on campus.

They did not want to get involved, so this writer wrote up an article with a stern warning to all who possess a copy, or copies of the obscene paper.

He took a copy of that edition to the campus police who then decided they had cause to be interested. They referred this writer to the FBI.

However, this writer first called the Lancaster County Attorney's office, but was extremely rudely told to call the Lincoln Police.

He called them, an officer came out, but refused to handle the complaint.

ALL THIS WRITER HAD ASKED HIM TO DO WAS TO WRITE UP A REPORT SO THIS WRITER WOULD HAVE A BASIS FOR TAKING CIVILIZED LEGAL ACTION. The officer refused.

The FBI thought the slander would blow over, and told this writer to get out of their office with his crap.

This writer pointed to the stern warning and said, "This is not crap!." The FBI then decided it should be interested.

THE STERN WARNING WAS A NO TRESPASS NOTICE TO ANY AND ALL WHO THOUGHT THEY COULD USE THE WRITER'S NAME FOR THEIR PURPOSES. The warning was also made available to businesses and persons who might come into contact with the obscene paper.

Two businesses chose not to heed the warning. One of the businesses has its name on the obscene paper as being the source of that paper. The manager denied having any knowledge of either paper.

However, when the writer contacted that business and said thank you for the opportunity; he shortly received a call from a person who mistakenly thought this writer was pleased with the obscene paper; or at least he acted as though he did.

The caller seemed to know this writer quite well and this writer though he recognized the person's voice. Charges are pending for that person and for other suspects, and they know who they are.

With the distribution of the second batch of the first edition of the obscene paper, the list of suspects has gotten larger; and this writer suspects those persons know, or at least, will be able to realize that they are suspects.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR THIS WRITER HE IS THE PRIME SUSPECT BECAUSE HIS NAME IS ON THE OBSCENE PAPER, AND THAT PAPER SO CLOSELY RESEMBLES HIS PAPER THAT EVEN REGULAR READERS IMMEDIATELY ASSUME THAT IT IS HIS PAPER. AS A RESULT THIS WRITER STANDS ACCUSED, CONVICTED, AND SENTENCED TO WHATEVER PENALTY THE PUBLISHERS OF PORN PAPER DESIRE; AND HE CAN'T GET REDRESS OF HIS GREIVANCE.

At the place where the obscene paper was found, following the issuance of the warning, this writer intended to again inform the manager of the impropriety of the obscene material. Unfortunately the manager took a long time in coming up to see this writer, who got more and more angry with each passing second.

By the time the manager got up front this writer was extremely angry and and nasty. He repeated his comments on the telephone at a later [time]; but more nastily.

As a result this writer has a citation for his angry reaction. The situation could have been avoided if the County Attorney and police had not been so rude themselves. During the 1980s the courts have consistently denied people protection from slander by the established media. Civil legal action is impossible. Repeat - THE COURTS WITH THEIR PREVIOUS DENIAL OF REDRESS FOR SLANDER HAVE MADE CIVIL LEGAL ACTION IMPOSSIBLE.

This writer may face the death sentence for his effort to defend himself; but those who assumed they could use his name for their purposes may find themselves facing the same charge if they continue to use this writer's name; and not because of anything this writer might do to them; but, merely because use of his name may cause them to have to answer to his charges for him.

This most unfortunate incident may put an end to this paper. The goal of the obscene paper will have been acheived; since it was obviously intended to put an end to this paper; and to this writer's life.

This typewriter seems to be more out of adjustment than usual; however, it has had to type many editions of this paper and two books, unserviced.
