Deadcatpeed Inoven(nt) -- the "Obscene Paper"

Deadcatpeed Inoven(nt), or "Deadcatpeed" as it is more commonly known, was published in November 1988 by an unnamed person or persons, as a parody of Marlin's Independent Advocate. (The title is an anagram of "Independent Advocate.")

Pals reacted to the publication of the Deadcatpeed by notifying the police, the Lancaster County Attorney's office, and the FBI. (For details, see the Independent Advocate, Vol. 4, No. 2 (Jan. 14, 1989). Getting no response from authorities, Pals took matters into his own hands by threatening to blow up a local record store.
